Its advanced armor and 120mm main gun, this made it one of the most formidable tanks during the Cold War. The Chieftain is regarded by many as the best NATO tank that served during the 60’s and 70’s. The Chieftain was first designed in the 50’s and replaced the post war tank which saw action in the Koran conflict the Centurion, another great British tank. ![]() The tank in question is arguably one of the best MBT’s from the Cold War period, the British Chieftain.
